New green shoots are starting to stretch up around the shore of the pond, but last year’s reeds still tower high above, their feathery tops fluttering in the wind.
They’re some other different kind of reed. We have bull rushes too, but they go more fuzzy… almost like cotton balls… as they grow (age? mature? die?).
