Our huge Rose of Sharon bush outside the dining room window is in bloom. Honestly, as beautiful as it is, I wasn’t going to do a post about it because, really, it’s just another picture of a pretty flower.
But then I saw a fuzzy bumble bee pollinating the blossoms. He was completely dusted in pollen, so I of course had to take his picture.
It may seem sappy, but seeing this industrious fellow–and the hummingbrids which also love the Rose of Sharon–reminds me that mother nature is pretty cool.

Mother nature is indeed the coolest thing we have. Always reminding us of the great cycle of life and our inherit interdependency with all of our environment — animal, vegetable or mineral This from a person who has an over-developed fear of bees and bee like creatures!~) That is a polite way of saying “I freak out”!
The interdependency is something I’m very aware of now. I like seeing it right in front of me everyday.
Very pretty! We’ve been having a great time watching the bees, butterflies and hummingbirds in our garden too.

That’s good that you have lots of bees. Have you considered getting hives? The bees need all the help they can get these days.
I’d love to have hives. There’s a local honey producer that I’ve heard puts hives on people’s property. That way, they manage the hives, but I get the benefit of the bees… and hopefully a comb honey or two! My Dad did a beekeeping course a few years ago, so that’s my other option.
It’s a new kind of interdependence. I think it would be wonderful.
