The field across the road has been in grain this year for the first time since we moved to the farm. Saturday, a combine was hard at work harvesting the crop.

I find it fascinating how a fallow season is part of a healthy cycle. It’s a good thing to remember in my own life, that if I feel unproductive or generally gormless, that perhaps it’s part of a larger scheme.
Absolutely. This is one of the most surprising things that I’ve learned since starting our garden. Giving the soil a rest is an important part of the life cycle.
There are wheat fields here of course, but I don’t think I have watched them being harvested before. Your pictures are beautiful!
I’m always chasing after the tractors or other farm equipment with my camera. The novelty of country living is not wearing off for me!
